It’s Happening: We’re in China!
We’re excited to share that in October we traveled to Shenzen and Hong Kong, China to visit factories and select final manufacturing partners to produce the Pilot earpiece. Our CEO, Andrew Ochoa, also presented during HWTrek, a community of hardware innovators. We visited manufacturing factories specializing in molding, 3D printing, assembly, prototyping, testing and even packaging!
There is a significant leap from building a working prototype to going into mass production. Selecting manufacturing partners with experience in the tooling and technical challenges that are unique to Waverly Labs is one of our greatest challenges. We spent the last month ensuring the quality of our partners and their capabilities to fulfill our orders. - Bill
Shenzen is one of the world’s largest manufacturing centers. The manufacturing expertise is why major companies send their teams there. We had the opportunity to not only view the production lines of the contract manufacturers we are discussing with, but also explore the impact of Pilot’s translation system in East Asia while meeting with investors and other business partners in the region.
Creating partnerships in manufacturing goes beyond selecting components, assembly and labor; it hinges on creating lasting relationships with quality organizations that you can trust and can grow with. - Bill
Our trip to Shenzen is a major step in the journey which we're excited to share with our community.[caption id="attachment_4003" align="aligncenter" width="847"]
